Barbara B. Miller has served over 300 organizations, 60 U.S. law firms, and thousands of people as a training, coaching, and speaking consultant in communication improvement. She has worked with professional services firms and corporations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia—and continues to be invited back year after year.
REPRESENTATIVE WORK
- Prepared Associate attorneys in U.S., Europe, and Asia for internal communication effectiveness in law firms.
- In Grand Cayman, British Virgin Island, Dubai and Dublin, trained corporate and tax solicitors for business development and legal issues presentations.
- In the U.S., trained lawyers, bankers, and technical leaders to be interviewed for nationally broadcast interviews and periodicals.
- Worked with over 60 top U.S. law firms, in 30 U.S. cities, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Milan, and Frankfurt in communication improvement in the courtroom, in business development competitions and in partner/associate/staff relations.
- Prepared high tech companies for analysts and user group meetings and worldwide product announcements.
- Prepared top managers of a national fast food chain for executive briefings.
- Trained top managers of emergency health care company in Executive Presence during high stakes interactions.

She served as a communication consultant to the National Institute of Trial Advocacy at the SMU Law School and traveled nationally for the National Practice Institute teaching courtroom persuasion and communication skills in a course called “Getting the Jury to Agree.”
For 25 years Barbara served on the seminar faculty of Leadership Texas, a program of the Foundation of Women’s Resources, teaching leadership and communication to emerging leaders in the public and private sector. Additional experience includes:
- April 2000-04, she moderated a global satellite seminar featuring international business owners and consultants.
- She produced and co-hosted a daily TV talk show where she interviewed 2,500 guests and dignitaries.
- She prepared interviewees for the “Today Show,” “Nightline,” “Squawk Box,” “The O’Reilly Factor,” and “The Lehrer News Hour.”
- Her most satisfying accomplishments include writing the grant proposal to fund the Center for Battered Women in Austin, Texas (the first of its kind in Texas), and being the mother of two grown, married and employed children and proud grandmother of three. Since 1989, she has spent part of most summers at the Chautauqua Institute in western New York state.
